How to set a nasheed ringtone on Android
- Download the .m4a using the "Android / any phone" link above — it lands in your Downloads folder.
- Open Settings and go to Sound & vibration > Phone ringtone (the exact wording varies slightly by brand).
- Pick the file — choose the option to browse your files or add a ringtone, then select the downloaded .m4a from Files/Downloads.
- Done. Some phones also let you long-press the file in the Files app and choose "Set as ringtone" directly.
How to set a nasheed ringtone on iPhone
Honest answer first: Apple locks ringtones down, so iPhone takes one extra step. The .m4r format is Apple's ringtone format — you just need to get the file into the Tones section. Two ways:
- GarageBand (no computer needed). Download the .m4r on your iPhone, open it in GarageBand (share the file to GarageBand, or import it into an audio track), then tap the share/export option and choose Ringtone. GarageBand installs it straight into Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
- Finder or iTunes (with a cable). Download the .m4r on a computer, plug in your iPhone, open it in Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows), and drag the .m4r into the phone's Tones section. It appears in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
